Program Details
Simply stated, a collateralized stock loan represents a transaction in which a stock owner pledges blocks of publicly traded stocks to be held by the lender as collateral for the duration of the loan term. The borrower makes interest payments over the life of the loan, with one final bullet payment at the end of the loan term.
Requirements
Securities must be unrestricted and traded on a major public exchange.
Meet minimum average daily trading value, as determined by the underwriter, but not less than $1,500,000 USD average per day.
Securities must be held electronically and readily available for transfer.
Program Highlights
No up-front loan application fees.
Minimum loan amount: $5.0 million USD.
Typical loan terms between 1 - 5 years, with the possibility of term extension up to another 5 year term.
LTV’s up to 50% of the total value of the pledged collateral.
Advantages
Collateralized stock loans are non-recourse and thus require no personal guarantees.
There are no restrictions on the use of loan proceeds.
Metrics such as credit ratings, adjusted earnings or other creditworthiness factors are generally not considered.
Borrower retains all voting rights as well as dividends.
